The Templar II-class Star Destroyer was an update on the Templar-class. Like the Imperial II looked like a larger version of the Imperial, the Templar II not only shared primary design properties from the Templar, but resembled a larger version of its smaller brother. The powerful ship was designed using plans of the ASD stolen during the Infiltration of Coruscant.

It was, unbeknown to the Sith Empire, a combination of the greatest aspects of Templar Design, and Imperial Design. By using Imperial production techniques, listed in the docket stolen from the Temple of the Sith, techniques perfected over more than a century of producing massive warships, the Templars were able to upscale their most successful and mass produced design, by nearly a scale of 2.

By combining the powerful shield and power designs of the Imperious-class Star Destroyer with Remsian Republic micronized weapons technology the Templar II managed to be of roughly equal length to the PSD, but with firepower on par with the Imperious. However the Templar II was slightly weaker than the Imperious in that it had half the Ion Cannons and Remsian Ion Cannon technology was roughly 100 years behind the rest of the galaxy.
