Lieutenant Colonel is a commissioned officer rank of the Templar Marine Corps and [[Twilight Trooper Corps, equal in rank to Commander in the Templar Navy. In informal settings, Lieutenant Colonels are referred to simply as "Colonel". A Lieutenant Colonel was given command of a Battalion of troops, normally around 700-1000 in numbers, plus their equipment. On rare occasions a Lieutenatn Colonel would be given command of a small Armored Column of about 10-12 Tanks.
Lieutenant Colonel was the most common rank given to Gin Deshis who were participating in the Marine Corps as they had the appropriate command experience. Gin Deshis with the rank of Liutenant Colonel were sometimes called "Lieutenant Knight" or "Lieutenant Knights" in an informal setting. It was not uncommon for a Gin Deshi with a Genin apprentice to have them assigned as a First Lieutenant in their Battalion.
