The V-92 Blaster Pistol was a type of hand held blaster produced by several Echani corporations throughout the history of the Galaxy.
Background[]
The Original V-92 was fielded some time after the Mandalorian War during a time when personal defense was important. A rather powerful weapon for its size it could piece all but the heaviest of armor at close range. This came at the cost of having a long range or a high ammo capacity per charge. Regardless the weapon was perfect for the personal defense field as it was small enough to be carried on ones person and could be concealed if need be. Its short range made it perfect for closed quarters such as on a ship or in the home.
Additional accessories were available for the gun, increased power packs that added ten additional shots, an extended barrel that gave the blaster half-again its range for a max of 75 meters, and others. All this and the relatively low price mark made the gun very popular, especially in the Echani market. These accessories and its sound compact design made the blaster very durable, the design continued through production, with minor improvements over time, well beyond the Galactic Civil War. The weapon was often used by security personnel on small vessels operated by the Echani.
