The Bakura-class Assault Transport was a ship designed and built by the Mikaru Corporation on the keel design of the Broadside-class cruiser and Gladiator-class Star Destroyer. While the Broadside was an Heavy weapons ship, the Gladiator balanced heavy weapons with the role of an Assault ship. The Bakura-class was a pure assault ship, with a large troop compliment, and defensive weapons. To assist in its role, for boarding and planet based operations, the Bakura-class carried 4 shuttles in its cramp hanger bay, and two large assault shuttles on docking ports on the topside of the ship. While docked the shuttles power was combined with the the Bakura's granting slight boosts to shield and weapon performance while doing so.
