Dragon mail shielding is a very effective form of shielding based on one of the oldest types of armor, scale mail. Instead of a single shield generator encompassing the entire unit, several smaller shield generators are embedded across the hull of the entire object being defended. Each generator overlaps its neighbor creating a reinforced shield (much in the same way dragon scales work) with one generator backing up another making each point stronger. Its very much like a shield version of Ablative Hull Armor and is capable of taking far more damage than standard shielding. Tied with Ablative armor and a Emergency Response Shielding system any ship using these systems together will be far more difficult to destroy than normal. But it also drains a lot of energy and requires a powerful power generator, any generator of that magnitude can be detected through even a cloak if one looks hard enough.
