The '''Echani Wrist Blade''' was a very rare and in most cases very illegal weapon. Based on the same technology and forging process of other Echani weapons the blade was deadly, and capable of blocking a lightsaber, though its use in combating a Jedi or Sith was limited. The blade consisted of a wrist unit that fitted on the for arm, under the sleeve of an outfit, or in some cases an arm guard. This unit housed the blade, vibration mechanism, and activation sensor.

This activation sensor monitored nerve impulses in the users arm, when the user flexed their wrist just so the blade would activate. If the arm was at the side, the hand was nearly perpendicular to the arm and the fingers were spread, the blade would slide out. Once fully extended the vibration mechanism would kick in, due to the proximity of the blade to the user these weapons did not vibrate as violently as other weapons, but were very capable of tearing an unarmored foe to shreds.

To deactivate the blade the user need only repeat the wrist flex and the blade would retract. Due to the nature of the weapon, being easily concealed and quite deadly the weapon was illegal in many parts of the Galaxy. The weapon could only be acquired with ease in Echani space and often required special training. None the less illegal copies of the weapon made its way to the black market. The weapon had a notorious history for being used for assassins. It was often a side arm for [[Echani Protectors]].

The '''Echa'olm''' more commonly known as the '''Echani Wolf''' was a large semi-sentient omnivorous predator native to [[Eshan]]. A type of [[starwars:Wolf|Wolf]] they were known for their large size, being nearly four feet tall at the shoulders, and their striking white fur. While they were wild animals they were not beyond domestication and were occasionally kept as pets. Their abilities to take down larger animals in packs earned them the namesake of the [[Echa'olm-class starfighter]] which could do much the same against larger ships.

Native to Eshan the Echa'olm much like the [[Echani]] all had white fur. Then born their coats were very thin and coarse but as they matured it grew longer and developed into a smoother layer. By the time they were one year old they were nearly fully grown and had coats with an average length of 3 inches. Their large height and length in comparison to normal canines gave them a very foreboding appearance, which was only added to by their mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

The Echa'olm were a social creatures, developing family packs that they stuck with for most if not all of their lives. Individuals tended to live fairly short lives and were often lethargic and depressed creatures. Domestic Echa'olm's tended to bond with their owners and their owners families, becoming very protective. While in packs they developed a cultural hierarchy with an Alpha Male & Female leading the pack. Younger males often competed for the position of Alpha Male leading often to one or more of the competitors injured.

The Echa'olm also had a similar natural ability to predict actions and movements to that of the Echani. The origin of this ability is unknown but its application was what made the Echa'olm the apex predator of [[Eshan]]. Utilizing this ability they hunted larger animals in packs, or smaller animals individually. Competing males also used this ability to combat each other while jockeying for the Alpha Male position. Several theory's exist towards the reasoning for this ability, including Genetic augmentation on the animals. This is wildly dismissed by the Echani due to its association with an old theory that the unusual nature of Echani genetics was the result of [[starwars:Arkanian|Arkanian]] genetic manipulation.

The ''Echa'olm''-class was created more then two centuries before the fall of the Republic. It was designed with the sole purpose of aiding the [[Echani Protectors]] in their duties as both special forces and sector guards. In this role the need of small combatants to patrol a distance from a primary capital ship, and to combat opposing fighters became necessary. Out of this need the ''Echa'olm'' was formed, to operate as a heavy variable role fighter within the ranks of the Protectors.

As a starfighter it was a very well balanced strike craft. Moderate armor and armament allowed the fighter to operate as both a heavy interceptor and escort fighter. Though it lacked warhead launchers the inclusion of hardpoints allowed for the inclusion of heavy weapons. Four hard points were located on each wing, allowing for a total of 16 concussion missiles to be loaded onto the fighter. Two larger hardpoints located on the bottom of the craft permitted the carrying of heavier concussion bombs.

The ''Echa'olm'' served the Echani Protectors from the time of their inception through the Clone Wars and well into the Galactic Civil War. This was possible due to the Protectors only fielding 100 wings at any given time. By fielding under 1000 craft the Protectors were able to quickly and relatively cheaply update and upgrade the fighters over the years. Through this more modern weapons, and engine upgrades could be installed on the ships pre-existing chassis, actually saving the Protectors millions of credits over the service lifetime of the fighters.
